James Herrmann

James Herrmann is a proud lifetime resident of North Arlington, where he attended North Arlington High School and played for both the Football and Baseball varsity teams. He attended college locally at the University of Montclair, continuing his varsity performance throughout.

He is now with Penske, responsible for a 200 vehicle fleet and $8.5 million a year in revenue. James has a long history of community involvement, whether as a recreation counselor, establishing scholarships for North Arlington's children, coaching basketball and softball, or spending five years seated on the North Arlington Borough Council.

He has served on the:

  • Board of Eduction as Trustee and later as Vice President
  • Zoning Board of Adjustments as member and then Co-Chair
  • North Arlington Education Foundation as Trustee
  • North Arlington Borough Council Recreation Commission

Jim Bocchino

Jim Bocchino was born in North Arlington where he lived until entering the Sacred Heart orphanage in Kearny. He went to work at the age of 15, attending trade school to learn carpentry. He was a member of Local 1342 Carpenters and Millrights.

Jim went on to become Supervisor of Inspectors at the HMDC, before joining the Bergen County Utilities Authority where he served over 20 years before recently retiring. He remains the President of the North Arlington Italian American Club, and was the former District 36 Chairman for the Republican Party.
